Local Words was founded to support the vital and growing community of writers in the South Bay and Lower Peninsula. We welcome writers of all levels to attend our events and aim to be your go-to place for news on writerly happenings.

Local Words was founded by Elizabeth Forsyth, a fiction writer and writing organization professional living in Sunnyvale, CA. Her works have been published in various literary magazines and anthologies, and she has produced writing events in the US and UK, including starting an events program in a South Bay bookstore. She currently serves as a Director at a San Francisco-based writing nonprofit where she also teaches classes on how to set writing goals and create your author events.
