Agenda

1pm: Opening Remarks

1:15 - 2:15pm: How to Get from Inspiration to Story with Lita Kurth

  • In this masterclass, Lita Kurth will share the sometimes-totally-weird source of some stories she’s written and how she turned the initial idea into a story. She will also answer questions and offer a five-minute writing prompt that may get attendees started on a new story of their own.

2:30 - 3:30pm: Navigating the Messy Middle: Turning the Mess into Success with Tarn Wilson

  • When we reach the middle of a writing project, our motivation can dip and we can lose our sense of direction. In this interactive workshop, we will explore effective strategies for managing emotions, such as self-doubt and uncertainty, that often arise during this phase. You will also leave with practical tools to help you clarify your overarching vision and discern your next steps, empowering you to move forward with greater joy and confidence in your process.

3:30-4:15pm: Writer’s Network with Elizabeth Forsyth, Founder of Local Words

  • Meet new writer friends and build your creative community through this activity lead by Elizabeth Forsyth, founder of Local Words.

4:15-5:15pm: How to Get Published with Rowena Leong Singer

  • Ever wonder what makes your writing stand out from an editor’s perspective? How to know when is your piece ready for submission? Or how to find the perfect literary journal for your writing? Join Rowena Leong Singer as she goes over these questions and more during our last masterclass.

5:15-5:30: Closing Remarks
